BIG AWARDS UPDATE
Although the ACSM annual meeting has been cancelled, BIG research awards are still on (with exception of travel awards.
BIG is soliciting nominations/ applications for the following awards:
- Career Award
- Mid-Career Award
- Young Scientist Award
- Dissertation Award
- Student Research Award
The BIG Awards submission deadline is APRIL 9th.
There will be no Student Travel Awards given out this year.

The BIG Awards submission deadline has been extended to APRIL 9th!

Applications should be submitted electronically to the ACSM BIG Awards Chair, Dr. Max Paquette at acsm.big.chairs@gmail.com. All material must be submitted by April 9th, 2020 (11:59pm PST). Please put “BIGAWARD_LASTNAME_FIRSTNAME” in the subject header of the application e-mail. In your email, please state to which award you are applying.
COVID-19/Annual Meeting information
ACSM HQ will be providing updates about the status of the Annual Meeting on a dedicated webpage. As of March 10, the Annual Meeting is still expected to take place (see the email sent out today by clicking here). Keep an eye on your email and the ACSM webpage for COVID-19 updates. The BIG chairs will do our best to help make sure everyone gets the necessary information.

The ACSM Biomechanics Interest Group’s (BIG) Executive Board in conjunction with corporate sponsors is pleased to announce the 2020 ACSM Biomechanics Awards program.

Science of Running Shoe Session at ACSM Annual Meeting
At this year’s ACSM Annual Meeting in Minneapolis, footwear industry experts will gather to present a session on their diverse approaches to running show development and the science underlying how their shoes are made. The evaluation of those approaches, including how they influence shoe performance and injury prevention, will also be highlighted.
Friday, June 1st, from 11:45-12:45pm
